Moving to North Carolina from Out of State

  • Moving to North Carolina from Out of State June 9, 2015 / Uncategorized

Moving into a new community can be a daunting task, and considering a move into North Carolina from out of state can be even more of a challenge. How can you ensure the residential home that you are looking for is in a safe community, good condition, and provides the opportunities you are looking for.

Whether you are a North Carolina resident or live out-of-state and looking to move to North Carolina, here are some resources that may be helpful for you:

    1. E-booklet: Understanding Closing Costs.
Don’t be fooled by internet mortgage scams or big banks who deny your mortgage application after you’ve put down a $500 application fee. Speak with a licensed residential mortgage specialist who knows the area where you will be moving.
    2. Zillo.com
Zillo provides detailed information on residential homes including last purchase price, property tax costs, and community details. It is remarkably accurate as long as there are more than a few recent sales in the neighborhood.
    1. The Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Relocation Guides.
Whether you are looking for demographic facts, employment opportunities, or community safety statistics, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce provides many resources.
    2. Research Triangle Park

Research Triangle Park attracts many employment opportunities, technology industries, and biotech firms.

Discover many other community resources here .

If possible, visit your new community during work, evening, or weekend hours to get a feel for the area. While you’re here, attend a community event. Be sure to take into consideration the change of living costs and moving costs.

Picking up and moving from state to state doesn’t have to become a complicated ordeal.
